Areas of Focus
Tele-health is much easier to set up than most people think and just as engaging as in person. I deliver services mainly through telehealth.

Most insurances now cover video/tele-health sessions. For video, you must be physically located in the state of Michigan for the session and have a strong internet connection. As for my credentials, I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and a Licensed Bachelor's degree Social Worker (LBSW) through the State of Michigan.

General Helpful Information
Services are delivered primarily through telehealth/video or phone. I have another position so my private practice part-time hours are limited to Tue, Wed, and Thur at 10:00 AM, 11:00 AM, 12:00 PM, 2:00 PM, 3:00 PM.

I strongly suggest calling your insurance company to find out your benefits. I will also do this once I receive your information but I often find discrepancies in what I am told and what is covered. Knowing your coverage is your responsibility. Specifically ask:
Are video/phone sessions covered. If asked - CPT codes: 90791, 90837, 90834.
Ask if you have a deductible and/or co-pay (two different things).

Sessions are generally 45-55 minutes. I book individuals back to back so I follow this pretty accurately. If you would like a shorter time this is an option as well.

If you have a deductible, co-pay, or are paying out of pocket, I use a HIPAA Compliant ap called IVY pay. You will receive a text from IVY pay after your first appt. You will put in your payment information (HSA’s are accepted) and it will be billed that day. On subsequent appts, you do not have to do anything. Your card will be charged that day after your appt. If your card information changes you will need to update that info.

Appointments – I usually schedule 3-4 out, with the first two back to back weeks. Thereafter I typically see people every other week and once they feel ready we move to monthly. If you feel you need weekly initially please share that need. I book out about 1-1 1.2 months so this is why we schedule 3-4 at a time.
Also, as long as you provide a 24 hour notice you can cancel at any time. I prefer people have appts and cancel within the 24 hours requirement rather than not have appts and lose the momentum we create.

Cancellations – There is a $35.00 fee for appts not cancelled within 24hours. The first time this happens, I waive the fee, as we are all human. Unfortunately, if it happens a second time there is the fee since it is typically not possible to fill your spot within 24 hours.

Reminders – A reminder text will be sent the Monday of the week of your appt. If you don’t receive the reminder please reach out to me. The reminder is automated and if you do not receive the reminder then something is wrong in the schedule. This does not happen often.

Last steps – After I take your initial intake info and demographics then:
I will text you a link to test my video platform called sessions through psychology today and I also use a HIPAA compliant version of Zoom.

I will email you the intake paperwork. Fair warning, it is lengthy but I’m not paperwork crazy so just fill out as little or as much as you are comfortable. The intake piece is important for me to get a good understanding of you, your background, and concerns. I must have these forms back several days prior to our first session as it includes the consent form I must have for us to meet.

Based on your preferences I will send you some appointment options by text to schedule.

Thank you for considering working with me!
